Today was a long day! We are going stir crazy in this hotel room!
The good news is that Robbie slept all night last night. The one time he did fuss I just rubbed his back and he went back to sleep. He was a new kid today. Usually we would have to hold him and he wouldn't go too far from us. Today he was an explorer and kept walking along the furniture in our room and playing. He was much happier in general and didn't cry when he woke up from his nap. Tonight he had a fussy time and it was a struggle since we had been basically stuck inside all day and Dad's patients were wearing thin.
A smashed ice sculpture they had out on the frozen river.
This morning we went for a walk outside just to get out and it was cold so we didn't stay out too long. We walked by the riverfront and explored the hotel a bit. The pictures of the green building are of our hotel. Robbie loves to play in this small suitcase that we bought. He puts his toys in and then climbs in and throws all the toys out and then climbes out and puts them all back in. This afternoon he had bath time again with dad and he liked it more today and even sat down and played for a while.
Our guide had to go back to the Civil Affairs office this afternoon and since she had to wait so long for our paperwork she didn't get back to take us around so we just went for a walk by ourselves. Robbie is getting better with the elevator, although he still fusses it's not the all out screaming that we used to get. We all love to be out of the room and Robbie has all the girls cooing at him. We now have all our official paperwork and we just have to wait for his passport which we can pick up on Friday. We sent our clothes to the laundry and should have them back tomorrow. Echo has arranged for us to go to visit St Sofia's church tomorrow afternoon and then go to a place called Polar Land. I saw the signs for it in the airport and it looks like they have whales and things like that. It's all indoors so it will be a nice change of pace from staring at these walls. It's going to be so nice to travel to a warmer part of China so we can actually be out and about.
The highlight of our day was being able to Skype with Makenna and my Mom this morning. Makenna and Robbie were able to see each other better and make a few faces at each other.
When we were in China, Gracie liked to push the buttons on the elevator. She got excited everytime we got near one. Maybe he would like that. Hoping you get out tomorrow. Blessings
