No more paperwork for a while till we accept a match.

The Journey continues....

Our home study was completed on February 4th 2011 and approved by Holt on March 9th 2011.

Thus began our Dossier paperwork...

We are now in the final stages of completing our Dossier. We have had our fingerprints done and gotten our approval from USCIS. We have had that document certified and it is now at the Chinese Consulate for Authentication. We have forwarded the paperwork we have completed to Holt for review and were happy to get a call this past Wednesday from Elen stating that everything is in order and that as soon as we get the I-797 sent to her our Dossier can be on it's way to China!

***We pray and ask for your prayers that the consulate gets it back to us in a timely manner so that we can forward it to Holt and have our Dossier sent to China by the end of June!

The start of our Journey

Welcome to our adoption journey blog!

As most of you know Derek and I have been on a journey to add to our family for many years.
With the help of IVF we were able to conceive our daughter and on September 23rd 2006 we welcomed Makenna into our family. After a few failed fertility treatments we decided to change the path of our journey toward adoption. We know there are may children in the world who need a good home and that we can surly provide it.

On November 6th 2010 we sat through a Lutheran Social Services (LSS) presentation on adoption and put in our application with them. After that we met with our social worker, Beth, and discussed our option. Derek and I were truly sick of waiting for more children and wanted to add to our family now! Beth explained the options from various countries and we fell in love with the China program.

My heart just broke as Beth explained the China Child of Promise Option. And from that moment on I knew my heart and child were in China!

Derek and I have decided to adopt a boy, age 0-24 months from China.
